About BiotroNiS
BiotroNiS is Saxony’s pioneering cluster dedicated to uniting biology and electronics - bridging living systems and technology through groundbreaking research and collaboration.
With a core team of leading scientists and innovators in bioelectronics, BiotroNiS connects academic excellence with industrial expertise, creating a unique ecosystem where novel ideas translate into real-world applications.
Based in Dresden, the heart of Europe’s semiconductor and materials innovation, BiotroNiS brings together renowned research institutions and forward-thinking companies across Saxony and Germany. Together, we are building a platform for:
• Cross-sector collaboration between academia and industry
• Organization of high-impact conferences, symposia, and knowledge-sharing events
• Development of shared databases, resources, and innovation roadmaps
• Promotion of content creation and public engagement to accelerate progress in bioelectronics
Supported by the Saxon government, BiotroNiS aims to shine a spotlight on the rapidly emerging field of bioelectronics — from diagnostic and therapeutic interfaces with neural systems to bio-integrated sensors and organic bioresponsive electronics.
Our mission is to empower the next generation of biohybrid technologies and to give a voice to the researchers, entrepreneurs, and visionaries shaping the future of human–technology integration.
