Building Commission NSW is the regulator of the building and construction industry in NSW, ensuring residential buildings meet compliance standards. As a proactive and collaborative authority, we focus on delivering quality homes and supporting housing supply targets by modernising regulations, leveraging digital research and data for accountability, and enhancing industry capability through education and awareness.
James Sherrard is the NSW Building Commissioner. He has worked in the construction industry for the past 30 years most recently spending three years with Transport for NSW.
