About C L Gupta Eye Institute
CL Gupta Eye Institute (CLGEI) is a leading tertiary eye care institute based in Moradabad, Western Uttar Pradesh, committed to delivering high-quality, ethical, and inclusive eye care. Established in September 2009 as a unit of the C.L. Gupta Charitable Foundation, the institute combines advanced clinical services with a strong public health approach to address the burden of avoidable blindness.
While tertiary care remains a cornerstone of CLGEI’s work, our impact extends far beyond hospital walls. Through a robust network of vision centres, outreach screening programs, and mobile eye care services, we ensure that quality eye care reaches people where they live. These community initiatives focus on primary eye care, cataract identification and referral, diabetic retinopathy screening, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) screening in NICUs, school eye health programs, and door-to-door screening for avoidable blindness.
Our vision centres, enabled by tele-ophthalmology and staffed by trained allied ophthalmic personnel, act as the first point of contact for communities, facilitating early diagnosis, timely referral, treatment, and follow-up. Close collaboration with community health workers strengthens continuity of care, particularly for children, premature infants, the elderly, and people living with diabetes.
By integrating community-based services with strong tertiary care at our base hospital, CLGEI is building an accessible, affordable, and sustainable continuum of eye care—staying true to our mission of Vision for All.
