Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre

Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (CCHRC), located on the outskirts of Silchar, Assam, is a not-for-profit institution devoted to providing compassionate, accessible care to the most vulnerable—daily wage earners, agricultural workers, and tea garden laborers—many of whom face the devastating impact of cancer. Nearly 80% of patients receive free or subsidised treatment, reflecting CCHRC’s commitment to serving the underserved. Under the leadership of Dr. Ravi Kannan, recipient of the 2023 Ramon Magsaysay Award and the 2023 CNN-News18 Indian of the Year Award for Social Change, CCHRC continues to redefine affordable cancer care.
