About CEAL Ghana
The Center for Ecological Agricultural and Livelihoods (CEAL) is a registered local NGO committed to alleviating poverty and food insecurity while enhancing the climate resilience of smallholder farmers in Northern Ghana.
Driven by the pressing challenges of under-development, slow socio-economic transformation, deeply rooted poverty, high vulnerability to climate change, and unsustainable agricultural practices, a group of smallholder farmers formed a farmer-based organization (FBO) that evolved into a non-governmental organization. CEAL's mission revolves around studying, modeling, and developing environmentally friendly and inclusive strategies to support smallholder farmers in improving their livelihood outcomes in Northern Ghana.

Through the application of proven eco-friendly technologies, CEAL empowers smallholder farmers, groups, and cooperatives, to boost crop and livestock yields in the North East Region. Our approach revolves around agroecological and climate-smart agricultural practices, conservation agriculture initiatives, and organic farming measures. By embracing these methods, we aim to achieve enhanced food security, sustainable income generation, poverty reduction, and increased climate resilience among smallholder farmers in Northern Ghana.
