Chateau Le Grand Verdus is a wine and spirits company based in Bordeaux. Since 1810, the Le Grix de la Salle family has cultivated their vineyard in the heart of a hilly natural site, 20 km east of Bordeaux, near to Saint-Emilion. Diversity is our main asset: 50 plots and large variations in altitude create a complex patchwork of soils; alternately limestones, clays and gravels. Assets which naturally reveals the unique personality of Grand Verdus wines, unique in their style. Today, father & sons, Antoine, Thomas & Edouard, turn to continue this great family heritage, being all really “hands-on” in production and trade services. WINE RANGE • 3 Classic Bordeaux Wines Blanc/Rosé/Rouge: large production, clean, juicy, easy to drink. • 2 surprising wines: 1 wine Sulfites free 100% Merlot (very clean), and 1 Orange wine 100% Semillon (limited production, only allocation) • 2 premium wines “Grande Réserve” red & white: « late-release » of 5+ years after bottling: small production, hand harvest, 14 to 16 months aged in new French Oak barrels … (limited production) • 2 wines focus on local grape varietal sometimes underrated in Bordeaux: Cabernet Franc & Semillon (limited production, only allocation) • New wines to come: 100% Syrah (aged in Amphora) and 100% Chenin Blanc.
