CICERO was establishedin 1990 by the Norwegian government with a mandate to develop the knowledge base in national and international climate policy. Today, CICERO is an independent research foundation with approximately 100 employees and over 130 million NOK in annual turnoverwith offices in Oslo Science Park.
CICERO providesresearch, analysis, advice, and information on global environmental issues and international climate policywith a view toadvancingthe climate transition andsupportinternational climate cooperation.
CICERO is internationally recognisedas one of the world’s leading institutes for interdisciplinary climate research. We have a strong commitment to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Changeand more than 25 of our scientistshave contributed to the panel’s reports since 1992. CICERO leads and participatesin large EU and national research projects with over 90 social actors participating.
