Collegium 1704 & Collegium Vocale 1704 prague baroque orchestra & vocal ensemble Conductor and harpsichordist Václav Luks founded Collegium 1704 together with colleagues, musicians specialising in early music, with a vision to discover the treasures of Baroque music for a contemporary audience. The fact that this vision is coming true is evidenced by the warm response of listeners and music reviewers around the world. Collegium 1704 plays Baroque, Classical and Romantic repertoire on period instruments. Together with the vocal ensemble Collegium Vocale 1704, the ensemble gives concerts in the main season at the Rudolfinum and Dresden, a chamber concert series at the Vzlet Cultural Centre, and performs baroque and classical operas in collaboration with prestigious theatres. In addition, both Collegia are regularly invited to major European music festivals.
