Women with a lived experience of cancer are uniquely placed to help other women with a cancer diagnosis to live well. Counterpart's service is based on this simple but powerful idea.

Since 2003, Counterpart (formerly BreaCan) has supported Victorian women affected by breast or a gynaecological cancer over 30,000 times.

Our model is valued and trusted by the health professionals we work with.
We do not provide medical, legal or financial advice or counselling.
We support at different times from diagnosis, during or after treatment.

All our services are free and confidential. They include:

Peer support (in person or over the phone)
Emotional and practical support from women who have experienced cancer and are professionally trained to assist other women.

Information resources
Reliable, evidenced-based information tailored to individual needs.

Events and Workshops
Health and wellbeing sessions with qualified health professionals on a range of topics.

Making Connections
Tailored support for women with advanced/metastatic cancer.
