About UNESCO Chair in Economics of Culture and Heritage
The šØš”šš¦šš¢ ššµš®š¶šæ š¶š» šš°š¼š»š¼šŗš¶š°š š¼š³ ššš¹šššæš² š®š»š± šš²šæš¶šš®š“š²: š¦ššæš®šš²š“š¶š²š š³š¼šæ š£šæš¼šš²š°šš¶š¼š» š®š»š± šš²šš²š¹š¼š½šŗš²š»š is based in Turin and focuses on research, education and engagement in the field of the economics of cultural heritage.
The Chair promotes both the research and the dissemination of the results, in its academic and capacity building programmes, contributing to raise awareness on the opportunities and challenges to consider culture and heritage as a lever for sustainable development strategies.
The University of Turin organises the following study programmes:
⢠MASTER in Cultural Property Protection in Crisis Response, aimed at strengthening the international efforts and enhancing cooperation to face emerging challenges towards the protection of cultural heritage. www.culturalpro.it/protection
⢠MASTER in World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development, focused on the essential knowledge and competences needed to design projects in the cultural field. https://www.culturalpro.it/project
Engagement activities are handled by Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture through the programmes:
⢠ACADEMY ON UNESCO DESIGNATIONS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, a short-term capacity building programme developed by Fondazione Santagata and UNESCO. Its main goal is to contribute to the achievement of the UN 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals. www.academysd.net
⢠HERITAGE: BEYOND WALLS, a special project by Fondazione Santagata targeting Syrian university students, aimed at improving access to knowledge resources, break isolation, encourage sharing and discussion, and empower awareness and capacities towards cultural heritage as a resource. bit.ly/HeritageBeyondWalls
