About Eco Friendly Africa Initiative (EFAI)
Ecofriendly Africa Initiative (EFAI) is a dynamic, youth and women-led non-profit founded in 2020 and headquartered in Nigeria. From its inception, EFAI has grown into a network of young leaders over 100 changemakers across African countries; united by a shared commitment to supporting communities most vulnerable to the twin challenges of climate change and conflict.
Our mission is to empower young professionals and local vulnerable groups across Africa by offering resources, knowledge, and platforms that enable resilient, sustainable development. Through specialized thematic focus— focused on climate resilience, peacebuilding & security, protection, Livelihood, advocacy, renewable energy, capacity building, and research — we address interconnected threats: environmental stress, social inequity, and instability.
At EFAI, we believe in compassion-driven action, collaboration, and inclusive innovation. We centre empathy and solidarity as drivers of change. Instead of prescribing solutions, we build local capacity — delivering training, facilitating community engagement, and promoting access to livelihoods and protection.
Our efforts are guided by principles of equality, transparency, and partnership. We are committed to ensuring all voices are heard — regardless of gender, ethnicity, or social background — and that interventions reflect the needs and strengths of communities themselves.
Our interventions are shaped by research and data (in line with our ethos of evidence-informed action), offering a bridge between grassroots reality and broader advocacy, policy, and sustainable development efforts.
