About EcoVision
EcoVision is a community led, home insulation upgrade and renovation organisation which provides a One Stop Shop Retrofit Service. This takes the hassle out of getting grant aid, sourcing contractors and overseeing projects for homeowners, businesses and community groups.
We are formerly known as Energy Communities Tipperary Cooperative CLG (ECTC).
EcoVision’s mission is to allow communities in the Mid-West to create local employment and community benefit through reducing their carbon footprint, eliminating fuel poverty and generating community-owned energy. Since 2012, EcoVision and its member communities have upgraded over 860 homes and secured over €12 million in investment for the Mid-West, with funding from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. All presided over by a volunteer board of community directors. EcoVision grew out of a desire by rural communities to retain people in their areas. Energy efficiency was seen as a great driver of local economic growth and will be even more significant in a Post-Covid Recovery while also playing an instrumental role in helping Ireland achieve the target set out in the Climate Action Plan.
EcoVision’s member communities include: Drombane/Upperchurch, Lorrha/Rathcabbin, Terryglass, Kilcommon/Rearcross/Hollyford, Birdhill, Cloughjordan, Cappamore, Burgess, Littleton, Ballingarry (Thurles), Loughmore/Castleliney, Clonoulty/Rossmore, Knockavilla/Donaskeigh, Kantoher and Cratloe
