Effective teachers, teaching assistants, and school leaders continually revise practice based on new knowledge and insights into the characteristics of effective schools and the teaching/learning process.
Expectations of effective teachers, as presented in nationally validated/valued standards (e.g. Australian PST, UK QTS, and USA InTASC) and of school leaders (e.g. USA ISLLC), provide structure for pre and in-service educator professional development worldwide.
