1. The derivation of the name find its roots at the Eddystone Lighthouse, designed by John Smeaton, which stood for 120 years designed by off the coast of Plymouth. The lighthouse was use to light the way for seafarers coming into the port. This was one of most difficult places to build a lighthouse as it was the first offshore installation. The rocks for the foundation were 40 miles offshore and saw a lot of tough weather. John Smeaton comes in and revolutionizes the construction of light houses by adopting an architecture of the lighthouse similar to an oak tree that could be flexible and allow for sway with the wind but also have an internal three-dimensional structure that was solid enough to endure the waves and storms. After 120-years the lighthouse was taken down but not because of cracks in the lighthouse, but because of in the rock foundation. EDYSTON products were designed rejuvenate deteriorate concrete to withstand the test of time by healing deteriorated sections, increasing resiliency to environmental conditions and using the impurities within the deteriorated concrete to bring it back to life.
