About EfD Ghana
One of the centers under the Environment for Development (EfD) initiative, EfD Ghana brings together accomplished environmental economists from Ghana and across the globe to conduct evidence-based research, policy advocacy, and training that focuses on promoting the sustainable management of Ghana’s environment and natural resources.
Established in 2019, EfD Ghana is hosted at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana (UG), and the School of Research and Graduate Studies (SRGS) at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), two of Ghana’s respected research and training institutes. This affiliation roots the center in a tradition of research and training excellence, providing an environment that nurtures ground-breaking research and strategic partnerships.
The center comprises 25 researchers, including 22 esteemed scholars from various Ghanaian universities and three international research associates. Beyond this internal team, EfD Ghana has cultivated a vast network of stakeholders, encompassing policymakers, fellow researchers, and the media, further reinforcing its capacity to effect change through informed decision-making.
