About Equitable Development Action
Equitable Development Action (EDACT) champions equity, economic inclusion, and generational wealth building in underserved communities. Rooted in a mission to be a powerful voice for the underserved, EDACT leverages capacity development as a cornerstone to tackle systemic barriers and empower underserved community to thrive.
Founded in 2019, we initially focused on addressing disparities among African immigrant communities in Minnesota. In 2023, we rebranded as EDACT to expand our mission, recognizing the need for a broader, more inclusive approach to fostering entrepreneurship, workforce development, and nonprofit capacity building.
Through programs like our Incubation and Acceleration Program for Nonprofits (IAPN), Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP), Health Equity Program (HEP), and EDACT Training Academy, we provide technical assistance, strategic support, and access to funding to help small businesses and nonprofits thrive. Our advocacy efforts have helped secure funding in state appropriations for community organizations, and we continue to drive economic empowerment and targeted compliance programs. At EDACT, we believe in the power of collaboration, systemic change, and capacity development to create a future where prosperity and opportunity are accessible to all.
