About EXP - The opportunity engine

A Southern California 501(c)3 organization, EXP is the opportunity engine. Since 1999, EXP prepares students for college and career success. We help students in underserved communities gain real work experience, unlock doors to career possibilities, and build the confidence they need to succeed in school, career, and life.

Our innovative programs include paid summer internships, career-readiness workshops, and certifications, guest speakers, workplace visits, and signature career discovery events like GPS Your Future® in the fall and Women in STEM Career Day in the spring. Our programs are available to 8400+ students in LA and Orange Counties and the City of Barstow.

More than 650 industry leaders served as EXP volunteers, mentors, and internship hosts and contributed more than 2,100 volunteer hours for School Year 2023-2024. Our success depends on our unique ability to bring industry and schools together to solve problems and overcome obstacles that prevent students' access to education, experience and opportunities.

By helping schools and industry work together, EXP is changing how society prepares students for life and bringing genuine opportunity to every young person we can reach.
