About Exponentia Prime Universe
Our Vision
Every child is brilliant and it is the responsibility of adults to help themselves and other adults see the brilliance in a child. The only thing that can hold back a child’s light is an adult who is unwilling to let that light shine.
Our Work
Our work is to create a community invested in the mathematical competitiveness of Black children at young ages. Exponentia Prime™ serves as an opportunity to raise the bar for our children on our terms and not be solely dependent on the institutional structures for the education of our children.
Our Rationale
Research has indicated that elementary math achievement is a predictor for high school math achievement. Also, middle school math achievement is a strong predictor for high school graduation. Furthermore, high school math achievement is a very strong predictor of the ability to meet career goals. Using this knowledge as a base, Black achievement in mathematics is critical to the success of the Black community.
Our First Project
This fall/winter, we'll launch two books for math excellence in Black children (Exponentia Prime: The Great Unknown and Exponentia Prime Competition Workbook). Both were authored by a Black creative. Our books explore the journey of a young mathematician in a new world. The workbook provides practice for young people who will engage in a highly rigorous and competitive math competition for grades K-2.
