About EZGU AMAL Charitable Foundation
The EZGU AMAL Foundation is the first non-governmental non-for-profit organization in Uzbekistan in the area of support of fight against pediatric oncology. It was established by individuals, ordinary volunteers, united by a common idea - to make sure that children with cancer in need of medical care can receive it. It promotes and encourages corporate charity, social partnership, the development of private charity and volunteering.
The activity of the Foundation is mainly financed by the donations of citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan, collected in cash and by means of payment systems via special mobile applications or corporate web-site of the Foundation. Large corporations and small private businesses also provide their donations, mainly intended for specific projects.
The Foundation was established in 2018 at city level and then re-registered in 2022 as national level NGO. It helps to purchase chemotherapy medicine, finance diagnostics, treatment and surgeries, which are not covered by governmental free services, to children sick with cancer under 16 years old for primary applications and under 18 years old for those who are already registered as ward of the Foundation.
One of the prides of the Foundation is the social project on establishing the first ever children's hospice in Uzbekistan, accomplished with the support of the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Embassy of the Israel and private donors. The Foundation continues to finance some part of the burden of the hospice like salary expenses of psychologist, social worker and incentives for all of the staff of the hospice, as well as three-time hot meals of all residents (staff, little patients and their parents).
The Foundation also promotes the development of unique social projects in the country like onco-psychology and palliative care.
