CSA Delegation at CYBERUK 2023: Pioneering Cybersecurity Collaboration
A #CSA delegation, led by Chief Executive Mr David Koh, participated in the 10th CYBERUK Conference in Glasgow, United Kingdom, joining senior leaders from governments, industry and civil society to discuss emerging cyber threats and resilience in an era of rapid technological change.
Mr Koh highlighted strong cyber hygiene as Singapore’s first line of defence against AI-enabled threats, and called for countries to harmonise cybersecurity requirements and enhance interoperability of standards — to protect consumers, reduce compliance cost for businesses, and raise the overall cybersecurity posture.
In a historic first, Mr Koh chaired the International Plenary, reaffirming the need for collaboration across governments, industry and civil society.
On the sidelines, Mr Koh co-chaired the Counter Ransomware Initiative Meeting, where the 74-member group discussed combatting the growing ransomware threat. Senior Assistant Director at CSA’s National Cyber Threat Analysis Centre, Mr Teow Chin Ran, also briefed participants on the evolving global ransomware landscape.
CSA also advanced cyber partnerships with the UK, France, Germany and Canada, translating shared views into concrete steps of action.
In the words of Mr Koh, “Singapore believes that the key is not about having identical, common or the same standards, but rather, countries could work together to harmonise and achieve a degree of coherence in our standards and frameworks as far as possible”.
