Today, we broke ground on more than a building. We broke ground on a place our veterans can be proud to call their own.
After years of planning, fundraising, and believing our veterans deserved better, we officially broke ground on the new VFW Post 2410 in Harlingen, a nearly 10,000-square-foot, $2.5 million facility built to honor the men and women who have served our country.
Originally built in 1939, the post has served generations of veterans and families. What started as a story about a building in need became something much bigger: a community coming together to take care of its veterans.
At Noble, our mission is to inspire hope, improve lives, and strengthen the communities we live in. Today was that mission in action.
We are grateful to Congressman Vicente Gonzalez for securing $850,000 through federal earmarks, to Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr. and Commissioner Gus Ruiz for their leadership and support in securing $150,000 from Cameron County, and to the more than 30 contractors and builders who donated in-kind labor and materials totaling approximately $1.5 million.
A special thank you to Whataburger and H-E-B for generously providing food for today’s groundbreaking.
Today marked the start of a new chapter for VFW Post 2410 and for the veterans who deserve a place built with dignity, gratitude, and respect.
