Most AI editing work does not start with a perfect prompt. It starts with a rough recording, a few false starts, a tangent you forgot to cut, and that one section that almost works.

We added Opus 4.8 to Underlord’s model picker for those moments.
In our latest evals, Opus 4.8 stood out on editing-heavy tasks: removing filler words, cutting retakes, tightening pauses, generating chapters, and improving audio with Studio Sound.

It is a separate model option, not a replacement. Opus 4.7 is still faster and lower cost in our tests. Opus 4.8 is there when you want to see whether a more deliberate model gives the edit more polish.
