From 1 July 2026, Meta is introducing location-based fees of 2–5%, based on where your audience is — not where your business operates.
🇬🇧 UK – 2%
🇫🇷 France – 3%
🇮🇹 Italy – 3%
🇪🇸 Spain – 3%
🇦🇹 Austria – 5%
🇹🇷 Türkiye – 5%
And importantly, this isn’t taken from your budget — it’s added on top of your ad spend. So if you spend £100 targeting a UK audience, you’ll actually pay £102.
It might not sound like much, but when you combine this with rising CPMs and increasing competition, it quickly starts to eat into your return.
The reality is simple: advertising on these platforms is getting more expensive, and it’s becoming harder to generate strong results unless campaigns are being run as efficiently as possible.
