St Giles Community Centre Refurbishment: A Bold Transformation with K Systems Direct Fix

The St Giles Community Centre provides a vital hub for young people aged 11 to 18, offering a safe and engaging environment for activities, guidance and support.

When the building required refurbishment, the project needed to improve its appearance, thermal efficiency and long-term durability, while overcoming construction challenges such as undulating building lines. 🧱

To achieve the desired aesthetic, the K Systems Direct Fix M system was specified, with mineral wool insulation installed in varying thicknesses from 100-300mm to create precise depth profiles.

Finished in six bold shades of K Systems Thin Coat Render, the result is a durable, visually striking façade that gives the community centre a fresh and inspiring new identity. 🌈

The project went on to win the ‘Non-Residential - Render / Traditional Finish’ category at the 2025 INCA Awards. 🏆
