🌍 Happy World Environment Day! 🌍

Two weeks ago, I attended the INVEST in Nature conference organised by ecology calling. I came away having learned so much about the development in nature, finance, and restoration space that I knew I wanted to share the information. Anyone who knows me will know that I have been waiting for the right moment since to write a post, and World Environment Day seemed like the right day.

Lately, I've been incredibly fortunate to meet so many people who are passionate about seeing #NatureSucceed. Whether through #citizenscience events in a demolished neighbourhood transformed into a Natural park in Bucharest as part of NatalieProject, or through the fascinating discussions at #INVESTinNature, it's been inspiring to see so many people working towards the same goal.

A massive THANK YOU to Joe Huddart, PhD and team for inviting Claire Narraway and I to the conference that changed the way I looked at nature and finance. What struck me most was the diversity of perspectives. The incredible line-up brought together experts from academia, finance, corporates, NGOs, and restoration practice- all sharing their insights on the challenges and opportunities that this space faces, and the responsible and effective ways to increasing investment in nature.

My biggest takeaway was that nobody was blind to the challenges ahead. Everyone recognised the complexities, uncertainties, and pitfalls that exist in the field. Yet there was also a shared determination to turn those challenges into opportunities and to keep pushing forward. It was a reminder that meaningful progress comes from having dedicated people willing to work together to find answers to #shared problems.

And on that note, I am very excited about London Climate Action Week from 20-28 June🌱! At Earthwatch Europe we have a host of fantastic events lined up, including #Discoverydays (citizen science monitoring days to collect essential ecological data) and a #film screening on 'Making a Mini Forest' on 24 June at Phoenix Cinema, London. Whether you're curious about #naturebasedsolutions, #communityaction, #restoration, or simply want to learn more, there's something for everyone.
