Job Objective
The Business Development (BD) professional will be the company’s growth engine. The primary goal is to identify new market opportunities, prospect high-volume clients, and convert leads into active, profitable accounts. The ideal candidate must possess an established network of contacts and a consultative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Active Prospecting (Hunting): Identify and qualify new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, trade shows, and market intelligence tools.
- Sales Funnel Management: Manage the entire sales lifecycle, from initial contact to account implementation and the first successful shipment.
- Consultative Selling: Analyze the client’s supply chain to offer solutions that optimize costs and lead times (Door-to-Door, DDP/DAP, Warehousing, and Distribution).
- Proposal Presentation: Prepare and present RFQs (Request for Quotation) and complex commercial proposals to key decision-makers.
- Cross-Selling: Promote additional services, including cargo insurance, Customs Brokerage, and value-added services (labeling, palletizing, etc.).
Profile & Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record of success in outside sales within the US freight forwarding industry (minimum of 2 years).
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the local market and global freight dynamics.
- Communication Skills: Excellent public speaking and writing skills for executive-level presentations.
- Goal-Oriented: Strong focus on KPIs related to volume, revenue, and profit margins.
- Soft Skills: Resilience, autonomy, and the ability to negotiate effectively under pressure.
