About Abertis Foundation
At the Abertis Foundation, we have been contributing to the sustainable development of the areas where Abertis operates for 25 years. Our activities focus on five strategic lines: road safety, environment, social action, education and culture.
Road safety and contributing to sustainable mobility are at the heart of the Abertis Foundation's activities. We aim to reduce the number of road accidents by promoting road safety education. This axis includes the alliance between the Abertis Foundation and Unicef, which contributes to the safe mobility of children and young people.
Since 2014, the headquarters of the Abertis Foundation, the Castellet Castle, has been home to the UNESCO International Centre of Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves, which promotes an ambitious programme to develop scientific and information activities related to this thematic network.
2023 will also see the 20th anniversary of the Abertis Chairs, which promote training, research and knowledge transfer between universities and companies in partnership with prestigious universities and academic institutions.
