Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD)

The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) facilitates and funds joint research activities on chronic, non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries and in vulnerable communities in high-income countries. The research aims to contribute to the evidence base with which policy-makers develop and implement strategies for improving the health of their constituencies. Our joint, global activities and unique model of pairing high-income country researchers with low-income country researchers, distinguish GACD programmes from other funded research on non-communicable diseases.
