About Glebe BIA
Welcome to the Glebe, one of Ottawa’s most cherished downtown urban hotspots and popular destinations for distinctive shops and great restaurants. Centrally located, explore the bustling Bank Street, the live action at Lansdowne and experience a national capital experience that is second to none. Set alongside the historic Rideau Canal, the Glebe offers landmarks, greenspace, attractions, festivals, sporting events, entertainment and recreational options galore. It truly is the place to be.
We work with our municipality on:
• Infrastructure renewal programs
• Festivals
• Promotions like the Glebe Spree Passport campaign
We’re also the voice of our members on issues that affect us all, including:
• Parking
• Safety concerns
• Marketing initiatives
• Urban planning and transportation
• Development and construction
• Tourism and economic development
Our revenues come from fees paid by member businesses through municipal property taxes. The Glebe BIA is overseen by an elected management board with 10 volunteers and a full-time executive director and a full-time communications and engagement officer.
