About Heifer International Ethiopia
Heifer Project International Ethiopia, an affiliate of Heifer International, has been operating in Ethiopia since 2019. Through its Lowlands Livelihoods Resilience Project (LLRP), Heifer Ethiopia works to enable the development of viable commercial production systems for small-scale Pastoralists and Agro-pastoralists in the project areas aimed at improving the livelihoods and resilience of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities. We have established a technical assistance partnership model that can generate innovative practices, human capacity building and works towards reducing the living income gap. In 2022 alone, we worked with 60,960 farming households.
We strive to drive impactful change in the poultry, dairy, small ruminants, horticulture, and beekeeping by supporting smallholder farmers, with a focus on women and youth.
Heifer Ethiopia is working actively in Oromia, Sidama, Central Ethiopia, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Afar, Somali, Gambella, South-West, and Southern regions of Ethiopia.
