iMind Malawi

iMind is a youth-led organization that is driving towards mental wellness. It is contributing towards the realization of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 which is “good health and well-being”. We are specifically focusing on target 3.4 and 3.5. Target 3.4: By 2030, reduce by one third premature mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well-being. Target 3.5: Strengthen the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, including narcotic drug abuse and harmful use of alcohol. Our programs center on mental health and other interrelated areas like education, poverty, unemployment and chronic diseases.

VISION
To be a leader in creating a mental health conscious youth in Malawi.

MISSION
To facilitate good mental health among the youth in Malawi through evidence-based research, provision of mental health awareness and treatment of mental disorders.

OBJECTIVES
1. Conduct evidence-based research on mental health issues
2. Provide mental health awareness to the society, particularly among the youth
3. Change negative attitudes against people with mental illnesses
4. Promote help seeking behaviors among the youth struggling with mental disorders
5. Provide or facilitate treatment of mental disorders
