About University of Edinburgh Institute for Academic Development

Our purpose is to provide University level support for teaching, learning and researcher development; through leadership, innovation, collaboration and direct provision that benefits students, staff and the University’s international reputation. We provide a mixture of direct support for students and staff (e.g. workshops, online resources, networks and advice), much of it delivered in partnership with Schools and other Services, alongside support for curriculum innovation and enhancement. The Institute for Academic Development (IAD) provides direct support for: • Taught Students (Undergraduates/Postgraduate Taught/Masters) • Postgraduate Researchers (PhD) • Research Staff (Early Career Researchers, Research Supervisors and Principal Investigators) • Learning and Teaching Staff (Tutors and Demonstrators/Academic and Support Staff) For further information on the support we offer, please visit our website at www.ed.ac.uk/iad
