About Institute of Computing for Climate Science (ICCS)

Computational modelling is key to climate science. But models are becoming increasingly complex as we seek to understand our world in more depth. As computational models become increasingly complicated, and more data is produced, there are three main objectives that we seek to address:

1. Developing tools and systems to produce models that represent our world at a higher fidelity than ever before
2. Reliably extracting valuable information from various data sources
3. Maintaining robust and sustainable climate models

The institute comprises a collaboration between Cambridge Zero, the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, the department of Computer Science and Technology, and University Information Services at the University of Cambridge.
