About Institute of Food Technology - FINS

Institute of Food Technology (FINS) is one of the leading research institutes in the field of food and feed science and technology and dissemination of knowledge in Serbia and South Eastern Europe. The Institute started to work as an independent institution in 2007, and it is established based on the 50 years long tradition and experience of preceding institutions. It has more than 60 young and experienced researchers engaged in national and international projects. The Institute is a member of various international organizations and platforms: FOODForce, Food for Life, ISEKI, EFFOST, IFIF, EUFETEC, Animal Task Force, and others. The research and business strategy of the Institute is in line with the national and European strategy of priority research and development in the field of food and agriculture, whose primary criterion is: promotion in sustainable management of food production, creation and exploitation of biological potentials and development of new technologies and products in the agro-food chain. Institute gives great attention to international cooperation in order to strengthen its research and technological potential, as well as a method for networking and integration with our foreign counterparts. FINS researchers collaborate with colleagues from industry with the aim to apply the latest knowledge. The general goal is to improve the quality and safety of food and feed products and to increase their competitiveness in domestic and global markets.
