Institute of new Energy Systems

In view of global climate change and the increasing scarcity of resources, the secure and efficient supply of energy from renewable sources is one of the key challenges of our time. The environmentally friendly provision of renewable energy in the form of heat, electricity and fuels, their efficient utilisation in buildings, industrial and commercial applications and in the mobility sector, as well as their intelligent system integration, are associated with numerous technological and economic issues. Against this backdrop, six professors and around thirty research assistants and doctoral students at the Institute of new Energy Systems (InES) are working on pioneering technologies in the field of renewable energies as part of applied energy research.

The research work of the InES is divided into the areas of Industrial Energy Systems, Building Energy Systems, Technology Transfer & International Project Management, International Energy Research and Energy Systems Technology. The application-orientated research projects are mainly carried out in cooperation with medium-sized industrial partners, research institutes and partner universities.
