The International Dairy Federation (IDF) is the global voice of dairy. We unite scientists, farmers, processors, nutrition experts, and policymakers from around the world to advance evidence‑based practices that support food safety, public health, sustainability, and fair trade. Our 1200 experts are in 40 countries and we represent 2/3 of global dairy production.
For over a century, IDF has helped shape the future of dairy through internationally recognized standards, methods, and guidance that enable quality, safety, and harmonized commerce. Our community brings rigorous science into real‑world practice—so dairy can thrive economically, environmentally, and socially.
What we do
• Set and contribute to global standards and methods of analysis and sampling
• Translate the latest science into practical guidance for the whole value chain
• Support climate‑smart, biodiversity‑enhancing and circular dairy systems
• Inform policy dialogues (e.g., Codex) with independent, science‑based input
