International Degrowth Network

The International Degrowth Network (IDN) stands at the forefront of advocating for systemic change in our current growth-centric paradigm. We are a collaboration of diverse degrowth groups, uniting to address the interconnected challenges of environmental degradation, social inequality, and democratic deficits. Our foundation is built on sociocracy, fostering a non-hierarchical, inclusive, and participatory environment.

The IDN envisions a post-growth world that is decolonial, sustainable, and socially just. We emphasise the need for workplace democracy, participatory governance, and cultural shifts towards sufficiency and resilience. Our activities span from consolidating a horizontal degrowth network to advocating for decolonisation and justice, aiming to transform the economic and political landscape into one that values community, equity, and sustainability. We also organise assemblies, promote research and education, and facilitate a global network to share strategies, resources, and ideas.
