What You’ll Do
- Own the customer experience – greet people sincerely, be friendly and thank every customer
- Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
- Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting – use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
- Repair damaged or defective merchandise
- Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
- Maintain a clean department and work area

The von Maur family opened its first store in the late 1800's. The rented store was 20 by 50 feet, located in Davenport, Iowa. We have come a long way since that cozy shop. Today, 39 Von Maur stores are scattered across 17 states: Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin; and still expanding. Our corporate headquarters and E-commerce store are still proudly located in Davenport, Iowa.
