In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with RFQs, cost development, vendor pricing, and bid preparation, while also owning bid tracking, documentation, and coordination activities.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating Support
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, take-offs, and pricing summaries
- Review RFQs, technical scopes, drawings, and specifications
- Request and track vendor and supplier quotations
- Support the development and submission of client bid packages
- Document technical clarifications, exceptions, and deviations
- Maintain bid tracking logs and estimating databases with high accuracy
- Track tender deadlines and ensure timely submissions
- Organize and manage electronic and physical bid files
- Log quotations and assist with follow-ups on submitted bids
- Prepare basic sales and bid activity reports
- Maintain historical cost data for future estimating reference
- High school diploma required
- 1–5 years of experience in estimating, project management, engineering, or related role
- Experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred
- Exposure to projects with $5M+ annual sales is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Analytical mindset with interest in cost development and pricing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable working with technical documents and drawings
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction in shop/operational environments
- Occasional travel required (up to 25%)
- Exposure to outdoor conditions and varying noise levels when in operational areas
