An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.
JOB SUMMARY: This position functions as an integral member of the athletic health care team in the high school. This position works with individuals engaged in physical activity in the prevention of injuries and illnesses, the recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of injuries and illnesses, the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries and illnesses, and the administration of the health care system. This position must have current certification in CPR and be qualified in first aid and blood borne pathogens. This position ensures that the student-athlete is able to participate in practices and games following a sports-related injury. Additionally, this position completes documentation on the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of student-athletes, as well as communicating with school administrators, coaches, and parents regarding a student-athletes' participation status. This position will assist in developing formal educational or instruction on subject matter related to athletic training or sports medicine for high school classes. This position will be required to participate in annual OSHA training for blood borne pathogens.
