Essential Functions

  • Expand the Workplace Financial Wellness Program: Collaborate with the Director, Community and Public Relations to grow the program across the Credit Union’s service area. This includes sourcing, recruiting, and maintaining partnerships with businesses to implement financial literacy initiatives and bring the Workplace Financial Wellness program onsite. Additionally, promote the Credit Union brand through community events and partnerships.
  • Enhance College and University Outreach: Serve as the primary representative for Y-12 Credit Union on college and university campuses. Lead efforts to increase brand recognition and membership by engaging with students and faculty. Coordinate campus visits to build meaningful relationships and grow Credit Union membership among this demographic.
  • Strengthen Community Outreach: Act as the key ambassador for Y-12 Credit Union in the community to drive brand awareness and membership growth. Organize visits to community organizations, fostering connections and partnerships that promote the Credit Union’s mission.
  • Collaborative Team Role: Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating adaptability, creativity, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced setting. Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders while developing and delivering curriculum to promote financial wellness.
  • Public Speaking and Presentation Skills: Deliver workshops, seminars, and financial literacy classes to diverse audiences. Group sizes may range from 20 attendees to several hundred, depending on the outreach event.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel throughout the Credit Union’s footprint to visit businesses, colleges, universities, schools, and community organizations. Conduct on-site workshops, seminars, and financial literacy events as part of the outreach efforts.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Support other Credit union projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Collaborate with other departments to contribute to broader organizational goals outside the Community and Business Development scope.


Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing preferred or three to five years of experience in community development, fundraising, financial services and/or other related fields, or an equivalent combination of experience and related advanced degrees.
  • Knowledge and expertise in financial services, marketing, personal finance and/or community development preferred.
  • Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) Designation or completion of designation within six months of being hired for the position.
  • Experience in a financial institution in a Marketing or Sales role, preferred.

  • Active Team Participation: Contribute to department and staff meetings to stay informed on organizational updates, promotional campaigns, and evolving priorities. Keep current with changes in policies, procedures, compliance, and product offerings.
  • Commitment to Professional Growth: Attend continuing education courses to strengthen job knowledge and performance, ensuring exceptional service to both internal and external members. Take initiative in personal career development and seek opportunities to acquire new skills.
  • Interpersonal Engagement: This role involves extensive personal interaction, often requiring tact, diplomacy, and trust. Responsibilities may include motivating, influencing, or training others while maintaining professionalism and courtesy in all communications.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Generates a target number of new member accounts or leads from prospecting and cold calling activities, meeting or exceeding annual benchmarks.
  • Facilitates a target number of community outreach educational sessions with consistent attendance growth.
