Aera is a New Zealand first-home startup launching in Australia. We’re hiring our first Melbourne-based team member to be the face of Aera locally and help define how we operate from day one.
We use behavioural science, coaching, and smarter property matching to help first-home buyers move faster and with confidence. We’ve already helped hundreds of buyers in New Zealand. Now we’re bringing Aera to Australia.
This is a rare zero-to-one role for someone who has already helped people buy homes and wants more ownership, impact, and growth than traditional roles allow.
The Role
You’ll personally guide first-home buyers from first conversation to settlement, supported by Aera’s educational app and tools.
The app helps buyers understand the process, move faster, and puts up to $10k back into their hands to put toward their deposit. You’ll coach buyers through borrowing, approvals, and home selection, curate matched properties, and run inspections or tours.
You’ll build early relationships with builders and developers, represent Aera in Melbourne, and help create the Australian playbook alongside the founder.
This is a founding operator role. High trust. High autonomy. Real ownership.
You’ll also be open to being part of content, including educational videos or appearing on Aera’s podcast. You’ll be supported to build your personal brand alongside the company.
Who This Is For
This role is only for people who have helped buyers purchase homes end to end.
Strong fits include mortgage brokers or lending specialists, new-home advisors, or buyer’s advocates focused on first-home buyers.
You understand lending, approvals, and the emotional weight of the decision. You’re comfortable without playbooks and motivated to help fix a broken system.

Melbourne-based. Full-time. Competitive base plus performance, OTE ~$150k+, plus meaningful startup equity.
