Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Head – IT to lead the University’s digital ecosystem and drive its transformation into a truly AI-enabled smart campus. This role goes beyond traditional IT management and focuses on building an intelligent, data-driven, and seamless digital experience for students, faculty, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Strategy & AI-Driven Transformation

    • Define and execute a future-ready IT strategy aligned with the University’s AI-first vision
    • Lead initiatives in AI, automation, data analytics, and smart campus solutions
    • Drive IT innovation across academic and administrative functions
Smart Campus & Infrastructure Leadership

    • Oversee end-to-end IT infrastructure including networks, cloud platforms, cybersecurity systems, and smart classrooms
    • Build a scalable, secure, and high-performance digital backbone for the campus
Academic Technology Enablement

    • Lead deployment and enhancement of Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual labs, and digital learning platforms
    • Enable blended, hybrid, and immersive learning experiences
    • Partner with academic leadership to embed technology into pedagogy
Enterprise Systems & Data Governance

    • Drive implementation and optimization of University ERP systems (Admissions, Academics, HR, Finance, Examinations)
    • Establish a strong data governance framework for informed decision-making
    • Leverage analytics for institutional effectiveness and student success
Cybersecurity & Compliance

    • Develop robust cybersecurity frameworks and data protection policies
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices
    • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident response planning
Leadership & Capability Building

    • Build and lead a high-performing IT team with a culture of innovation and agility
    • Foster continuous learning and upskilling in emerging technologies
    • Establish clear KPIs and performance-driven outcomes
Stakeholder & Vendor Management

    • Collaborate with Deans, faculty, and administrative teams to align IT with institutional needs
    • Manage strategic partnerships with technology providers and consultants
Budgeting & Resource Optimization

    • Plan and manage IT budgets with a focus on value creation and efficiency
    • Optimize technology investments for long-term scalability
Key Competencies

    • Strong understanding of smart campus ecosystems

    • High stakeholder management and collaboration skills
Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
    • MBA or equivalent leadership qualification preferred
    • Certifications such as AWS/Azure, ITIL, CISSP, or PMP are an advantage
