About the assignment


We’re looking for a Health Economics Research Specialist who can VOLUNTEER and LIVE in the Philippines in a hybrid role both remotely and in-country for a total of 10 months.


  • This assignment seeks to strengthen advocacy for classifying Type 1 Diabetes as a disability in the Philippines by conducting an in-depth economic impact analysis.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need specialization in health economics, experience in economic analysis of health interventions, and strong technical writing skills.
  • As a volunteer, you will support evidence-based policy advocacy through economic study design, data collection and analysis, and report writing.


About the Partner Organisation

Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an international NGO located in Quezon City, Philippines. HI works alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations in situations of poverty, conflict, and disaster to improve their living conditions and uphold their rights.


HI needs a volunteer to support its advocacy efforts with technical expertise in health economics, particularly to build a stronger case for classifying Type 1 Diabetes as a disability and influencing national policy change.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.

Additional requirements for this assignment include attaining a First Aid Certificate.
