Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Land Surveyor to support site surveying, mapping, and geospatial data collection for water infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in topographic surveys, route alignment, construction setting-out, and boundary surveys for projects such as water treatment plants, pumping stations, borehole schemes, and transmission pipelines. Experience on donor-funded, NGO-sponsored, or government projects is highly desirable.

The role requires strong expertise in modern surveying equipment, geospatial data processing, and interpretation of engineering drawings to support design and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Surveying & Data Collection:

  • Conduct topographic, control, and boundary surveys for project sites.

  • Perform route surveys for pipelines, transmission mains, and access roads.

  • Establish benchmarks and control points for construction activities.

  • Collect accurate field data using GPS, Total Station, and other surveying equipment.

Design Support:

  • Provide survey data to support engineering design and planning.

  • Prepare survey maps, contour plans, profiles, and cross-sections.

  • Assist in route selection and alignment studies for pipelines and infrastructure.

  • Ensure survey outputs meet project specifications and standards.

Setting-Out & Construction Support:

  • Carry out setting-out of structures, pipelines, and mechanical installations.

  • Provide on-site survey support during construction activities.

  • Verify alignment, levels, and positions of installed components.

  • Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design coordinates.

Data Processing & Reporting:

  • Process survey data using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS tools).

  • Prepare detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate records of survey data and field notes.

Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Ensure all survey activities comply with project requirements and standards.

  • Conduct periodic checks to verify accuracy of survey data.

  • Support audits and donor compliance reviews where required.

Maintenance & Rehabilitation Support:

  • Support surveys for rehabilitation and expansion of existing infrastructure.

  • Assess site conditions and provide data for upgrade planning.

  • Assist in resolving survey-related issues during project execution.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • BSc/HND in Surveying, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in land surveying, preferably within water infrastructure or civil engineering projects.

  • Experience in pipeline surveys, water facilities, or construction projects is required.

  • Experience handling donor-funded, NGO-sponsored, or government projects is an added advantage.

Professional Certification (Compulsory):

  • Registered with SURCON (Surveyors Council of Nigeria)

  • Membership of Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS)

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in use of Total Station, GPS/GNSS equipment, and leveling instruments.

  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and geodetic controls.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS software, and data processing tools.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and site plans.

  • Understanding of Nigerian surveying regulations and standards.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage field operations.

  • Willingness to travel across Nigeria for site assignments.

Other Requirements:
