Job Description And Duties
Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.
This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent.
Under the supervision of various Health Care Supervisors/Managers, the Office Technician (OT) provides the clerical support various Health Care Services Departments. The OT is an advanced journey level which regularly performs a variety of the most difficult duties and is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence and originality in performing assigned tasks. Regularly require detailed and sensitive public contact and/or independent origination of correspondence involving the knowledge and application of detailed regulations, policies and procedures. Good judgment and the ability to communicate effectively is of primary importance at this level. Typically, the work at this level is rarely reviewed. In addition, positions may have responsibility for functional guidance in training and assisting less experienced employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Either I
One year of experience in California state service performing clerical duties at a level of responsibilityequivalent to that of an Office Assistant, Range B.
Or II
Experience: Two years of experience in typing and clerical work. [Academic education above the twelfth grade may be substituted for one year of the required general experience on the basis of either (a) one year of generaleducation being equivalent to three months of experience; or (b) one year of education of a business orcommercial nature being equivalent to six months of experience. Students who are enrolled in the lastsemester or its equivalent of course work, which upon completion will fulfill these requirements, will beadmitted to the examination, but they must submit evidence of completion before they can be considered for appointment.]
