Summary

In a culture of continuous quality improvement, the Patient Care Technician is responsible for processing physician orders and accurately documenting appropriate information. This role supports the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse in delivering patient care while facilitating effective communication within the Emergency Department and across other departments.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Enrollment in or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant, PCT, or Nursing Assistant course, preferred

Required Length And Type Of Experience

  • Prior hospital or healthcare experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (may be obtained during hospital orientation)
  • Demonstrate interpersonal, clerical, and basic numerical skills, along with manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and body mechanics
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions

Required Licensure And Certification
