Summary/Objective
The Set-up Services Associate supports museum operations and events by setting up and breaking down furniture and equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition of all equipment to meet the Museum's standards.
This position is represented by a union.
Essential Functions Of The Job
- Properly and efficiently perform set-up services duties according to the Museum’s training program.
- Assist with inspecting and evaluating the condition of event-related equipment, tables, and chairs.
- Ensure that furniture and equipment are cleaned and properly maintained.
- Undertake comprehensive and ongoing training for the set-up services team
- Ensure that all work is performed safely in conformance with the Museum’s safety programs.
- Assist with set-up and break-down of tables, chairs, and linens for numerous meetings, programs, events, and other activities.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships as well as a positive and respectful attitude with peers, subordinates, supervisors, administrators, and visitors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including supporting the custodial, maintenance, and grounds teams.
- A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in set-up services and or custodial trade, or a combination of education and experience that would provide the required equivalent qualifications.
- Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures, particularly related to moving equipment and heavy furniture.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed based on event and operational schedules.
- Ability to communicate in English is preferred.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform work in environments that may be noisy, dirty, or physically demanding.
- Ability to safely move throughout the facility, including working on ladders, lifts, and at heights.
- Ability to frequently move, position, and transport up to 50 pounds through extended periods of time.
