Job Summary

African Underground Mining Services Pty Ltd (AUMS), currently West Africa's largest and leading trackless underground mining contractor is seeking to recruit qualified Blastmen to fill vacancies at the Akwaaba Underground Operations at Kinross Chirano Gold Mine in the Western Region of Ghana.

Reports To: Site Manager

Location: Site Based - Chirano - Ghana

Qualification Required & Experience

• Should have a Ghanaian Blastman Certificate of Competency issued by the Mines Inspectorate
• Should have not less than three (3) years working experience in underground development and must be capable of marking development face and doing charge up without supervision
• Should have comprehensive knowledge of the Ghanaian Mine Regulations
• Should have knowledge in the use of charge up kettle and at least two underground mobile equipment
• Should be capable of reading, speaking and underground the English Language
• Should have adequate knowledge in understand ventilation circuits, firing procedures including electric firing and re-entry procedures
• Should be conversant with industrial safety, health and environmental requirements
• Should be self-motivated and meet deadlines
• Physical strong and capable of performing this task
• Must have a valid Ghanaian
