Capital Cardiology Associates, the leading authority in cardiovascular health in the Capital Region, is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to support the successful execution of clinical research studies and trials. In this role, you will work closely with and support our Clinical Research Coordinators and Principal Investigators to keep studies running smoothly, on schedule, and in full compliance with protocols and regulations.

You will assist with day-to-day study operations, help organize and prioritize project tasks, and ensure key activities are completed accurately and on time. This work includes managing data entry, processing labs, maintaining regulatory files, reviewing patient charts, and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Your work will directly support study planning, regulatory adherence, and overall trial management, making you an essential part of the research team.

This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow in clinical research while contributing to studies that advance patient care and medical knowledge.

Core Responsibilities

  • Study Management: Accurately enter data into electronic data collection (EDC) systems, prepare visit packets, assemble regulatory binders, and assist CRCs directly during patient research visits.
  • Investigational Medications: Stock investigational products per strict sponsor specifications, prepare labels, organize drug cabinets, and maintain daily temperature and calibration logs.
  • Laboratory Operations: Order and stock lab supplies, prepare lab kits for phlebotomy, and process/ship biological specimens per strict protocol guidelines.
  • Administration & Patient Care: Schedule and confirm patient appointments, fax/file/archive documents, and ensure our patients have a seamless, welcoming experience.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist with compliance monitoring and prepare documents per federal and sponsor regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks thoroughly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical proficiency, including data entry, email, spreadsheets, and the ability to navigate multiple software programs simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build rapport with patients, team members, and sponsors
  • Highly adaptable and proactive; able to juggle competing deadlines, handle tasks delegated by multiple individuals, and pivot as trial priorities change
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material and protected health information (PHI) with absolute discretion

Preferred

  • Previous experience in cardiology or health care setting
  • Phlebotomy experience is a plus

Compensation

  • $20-22 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
